San Antonio Dances!
A month-long celebration of dance held through out the month of May. It includes the Annual Dance and Poetry series, Dance performances, workshops, and festivals. Watch the SADU events calendar for dates, times and locations.
WIP is a monthly series of informal showcase by local dancers, choreographers, and performance artists of work they are currently making. WIP is a fourteen-year collaboration between the Jump Start Performance Company and the San Antonio Dance Umbrella, presented on the last Wednesday of each month September through July of each year. It is an opportunity for artists to present work, receive constructive criticism and feedback from the audience and for the audience to discuss the work with the artists. Each May the best works are chosen and presented in their completed form in a dance performance and celebration. This is WIP CRÈME.
Dance at Radius
A series of dance showcase/forums featuring dance companies and artists from the San Antonio Dance community is designed as an audience development and audience education vehicle. It is offered free, October through June, in The Radius Building in downtown San Antonio across from the Municipal Auditorium at 106 Auditorium Circle.
This is a program to provide Senior citizens participating in centers throughout San Antonio the opportunity to dance! Whether it is ballroom, zumba, line dancing, folkloric or flamenco, it is taught by trained and experienced dance instructors. For more information please contact the Dance Umbrella.
