The Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center is the Mecca of Latino Arts and Culture in San Antonio and is committed to providing an exceptional dance education for children and adults in Mexican Folklorico and Spanish Flamenco dance.

Guadalupe Dance Academy

The GCAC Dance Program started in 1991 and offers beginning, intermediate and advanced level classes in Mexican Folklorico and Spanish Flamenco as part of the Guadalupe Dance Academy.  The goal is for the Academy students to become professionally trained members of the Guadalupe Dance Company.  The process usually begins with a student enrolling in the children’s dance classes and then proceeding on to the more advanced adult classes.  After many years of training, the Director may invite the student to become a Company Apprentice, at which point they continue to attend regular classes but begin a rigorous training period to prepare for Dance Company.

Ongoing Guadalupe Dance Academy Classes

The Guadalupe Dance Academy is registering for classes in Mexican Folkloric and Spanish Flamenco Dance for boys and girls as young as six and for men and women of all ages.
The class curriculum provides advanced levels of technique as well as information on the culture and traditions of Mexico and Spain. The Dance Academy is a trained group of aspiring students, who perform in and around San Antonio and may be seen annually performing at the Guadalupe Theater.
