Georgina
Morgan & Co., Contemporary Dance, was founded by Georgina Morgan in 1997. The
Company consists of a culturally diverse group of professional dancers, all of whom are
either natives or long-term residents of San Antonio. Her choreography
confronts some of the most sensitive and provocative issues of our time such as race,
faith, gender, and fundamental human emotions such as love and hope. Ms.
Morgans work has been featured in Patsy Torres music videos, on film for PBS,
at local dance festivals and at other major events such as the grand opening ceremonies
for the Nelson A. Rockefeller Center for Latin American Art. The Company has been
the feature of many newspaper articles, and has collaborated with other artists such as
musicians, photographers, and visual artists to produce multi-disciplinary works.
About to enter its third season, the Company is continuing to produce full-length
evening performances at venues in San Antonio and Austin, expanding its repertoire
and actively collaborating with several composers to produce innovative, original work.
Company members can often be found teaching, taking class, rehearsing, and hanging out at
Georgina Morgan's studio, Treehouse Dance Space.
