The dance studio is conveniently located in the heart of the Deco District on 1722 Fredericksburg Road between Zarzamora/Fulton and Buckeye Ave., only a few blocks from IH-10 in San Antonio, Texas.
Academia de Arte Flamenco is committed to bring the authentic tradition of the art of Flamenco from southern Spain to San Antonio, Texas.
We strive to have the best Flamenco dance program available in San Antonio, including the best flamenco dance instructors, structured dance classes with live guitar accompaniment, a strong foundation of flamenco technique, performing opportunities and the most beautiful dance costumes. |

OUR STORY
Our school was founded in July 2004 by owner Claudia Silva, whom driven by her passion for Flamenco decided to open a studio fully dedicated to Spanish dance and Flamenco Art. It was then when she and former Artistic Director, Oscar Treviño, backed up by an enthusiastic team of family and friends, converted an old and liveless commercial building into the beautiful and colorful Spanish style dance studio you see today.Behind each painted wall, each nailed sheet of wood, the polka-dotted chair in the dance room, the cozy changing room and every single picture and item hung, there are lots and lots of love and friendship left behind during the six weeks that took to remodel the site.
All the financial sacrifices and long hours spent on getting the studio ready and keeping it running have well paid off. Since we opened our doors on September 1, 2004, Academia de Arte Flamenco has performed at major city events such as the prestigious Texas Folklife Festival at the Institute of Texan Cultures, official Fiesta San Antonio events, Hispanic Heritage month celebrations, and others. We recently performed at the 2007 State Fair of Texas in Dallas. The State Fair of Texas is the largest fair in North America!
Academia de Arte Flamenco has also been featured several times in the San Antonio Express News, La Prensa and Conexión as well as broadcasted by local TV station NBC-WOAI, FOX-29, KSAT-12, KLRN-TV and Telemundo. We offer intensive dance workshops with renowned international Flamenco artists two or three times a year.
