San Antonio Jazz Ensemble brings a new dimension to the local arts scene with a charismatic group of professional contemporary dancers and original choreography.  To achieve it’s aspirations of being a powerful professional jazz company, SAJE will:

• Perform a seasonal concert repertoire in the River City
• Offer commercial dance entertainment for conventions and industrial venues
• Host stellar master classes for San Antonio dance community
• Create a community outreach program through dance

SAJE will provide company, apprentice and trainee positions by audition for qualified individuals ages 14 and older.

San Antonio Jazz Ensemble is taking the Central Texas dance scene by storm!  SAJE is a non-profit jazz dance company housed at Ballet San Antonio Academy.  Artistic Director, Ronda R. McClure has established a dynamic company of talented artists who capture audiences with their versatility and technique.  SAJE works in many aspects of the entertainment art business.  You can catch a glimpse at numerous fundraisers and banquets hosted by local companies and business.  You will also see them sharing the stage with other professional companies such as Ballet San Antonio, where they demonstrate their ability to perform contemporary jazz and modern work with excellence. 

Last season SAJE deputed their first season repertoire in a concert titled, "Entangled" and received rave reviews.  The company will be opening the season with a début of their 2006-2007 repertoires at the Radius Café on October 28, 2006.  It is at this performance that you will be able to preview SAJE’s repertoire that will be performed in the spring concert at the Carver Cultural Center in March.  Both Ronda R.McClure and the SAJE company members are enthusiastic about the great works in progress that they will perform at the Radius Café in October and continuing to serve the Central Texas community with dynamic and fresh talent.

About Ronda's Students:

Ronda’s students have danced across the world with groups such as N’Sync and have performed on award shows in Hollywood that include the MTV Music Video Awards.  Many of her students have moved to the Los Angeles area to pursue dancing careers and have been honored with EDGE Studio Scholarships and are dance assistants to some of the most respected teachers in the industry.  Ronda’s students have received national scholarships and awards for their talents that have allowed them to study at the top dance studios on both the East and West coasts

Ronda’s company alumni have also accepted positions with world renowned Universities and Conservatories across the country for dance, such as Point Park College, SUNY Purchase, TCU, Oklahoma City University, Cal Arts, and SMU.  Ronda’s students are diverse and eclectic in their training and talent’s, you can find them on the stage, behind the camera and holding positions in major dance companies around the country.
